CDM Benefits
AEL is in the process of getting CDM
benefits for the energy savings
achieved by replacing old HPSV /FTL
streetlights by T5 lamp based streetlights.
This is implemented in the following
corporations : Latur MC, Akola MC, Pune MC, Ajmer MC, Bikaner MC, Alwar
MC, Alwar UIT and Indore MC. IBRD, a division of World Bank, acting as
trustee, has shown interest in the purchase of CER's resulting
from this
bundled CDM project.
As a part of its environmental requirement,
we are following all the safety guidelines during the installation,
operations and maintenance phases of the project period. It also
highlights the attention on handling, storage and safe disposal of HPSV
and Flourescent lamps which contain minute quantities of mercury, an
hazadous substance.
An Environmental Manual has been prepared to
outline the details of the guidelines being followed. The manual for
Pune is attached for reference. Manual for all the corporations has been
prepared on similar lines with specific details for the respective towns
given. A copy of these manuals has been submitted in their local
language to the respective corporations electrical departments."
